Default Many issues, out priced by PvP chars.

level 20 Ranger Monk/ pet Bear all missions done and all towns open within 1.5 weeks of play. Average 4 hour days. PvE player only has no intrest in PVP even though I tryed it cause it was there and didnt like at all in this game.

First of all let me say I realy liked the game at first but then I got into the main game and into asc city and saw the rediculous spam selling items for rediculous amounts of gold as if this were SWG. The economy has been BLOWN OUT OF THE FRIKKEN WATER!!! just like every other online game that has money in it. I guess I expected to much. PvP players want certain things SOOOOO badly that will do ANYTHING to get it including pay 1000X its worth just so they can beat the other guy. This has COMPLETLY RUINED the none pvp player of this game. And others I might add.

Has been said before and I am about to say it again. I have played at least 10 MMORPG games that were both PvP and PvE and this IS the WORSE COMMUNITY EVAH!!! I have never been so horrified by things ppl say and the way ppl act as I do in this game. People Quiting in the middle of missions the second they level or get the item they wanted. I think the fact that you do not have a monthly fee contributes to this highly. I would pay $20 a month not to hear the garbage that comes out of some of these ppls mouths.

The fact that there is a RPG character creation section is a JOKE! never saw one person role play for one second, all I see is people arguing, screaming that so and so ripped them off all manner of profanity that you could possibly imagine.

Simple things...

Game is unbalanced plain and simple. But balance issues can be Fixed, nerfed what ever you want to call it.

PvP players have a HUGE, REDICULOUS, INSAINE, LUDICRUS advantage when it comes to getting gold.

The SELLING OF GOLD FOR $29.99 per 100,000 on open chat channels IN THE GAME SPAMMED EVERY WHERE. Not a dev in sight.

PvE chars cannot afford to buy items outright in towns from players at LUDICRUS costs cause they know some doofy PvP guy will give them his left kidney for it. ( The whole time I played my ranger from 0-20 I could BARLY afford to upgrade armor and weapons when at appropiate levels.)

The fact that you die just as easily at level 20 as you do at level 1 is just silly. Dieing from lvl 10s-12s. There is no sense of empowerment. (Balance, balance, balance)

Too difficult to find a team. Between people quiting and or just rushing into a mass of mobs while every one is still at half health, even when u do find a team chances are you'll have to do MANY of the missions over and over do to poor team play, IN A GAME THAT MAKES YOU TEAM!!(with pvp players I might add)!!(henchmen are retarded, we all know this)!!!!!!!! PvP chars just rushing to the top are a major contributor to this.

The mix of the PvP and PvE community. ((((This is the frankly the biggest issue in the game. The reason the PvE players cant find a half way decent team or for that matter a decent person that isnt a vulgar individual is that the PvP players simply do not care AT ALL about the PvE content they just see it as an obstical in thier way to beating someone in the arena and promply insulting them lol. (Hey what ever floats yer boat PvP ppl) I find it a JOKE that in the asention mission towns it is common to see lvl 7s and 8s that were assisted there by thier guild begging for teams so they can SKIP the PvE content!
Like I said earlier the gold issue is also totaly the fault of the PvP community. They will pay any amount for any item because they sell sigs all day for 40-50k gold. What do they care if you have never even seen a firery sword before. I remember being lvl 10 and wanting a new bow. Someone tryed selling me a bow for 10,000gold!!!! Taking advantage of the PvE community by the PvP community is going to have a major effect on this game. I know pple who have been playing the game half as long as I have and they already have 70k+gold from doing PvP matches. This is REDICULOUS, I played ALL the PvE content and I bet I didnt make 20k gold in all that time(my lvl20 has 3700gold on him right now! I cant even afford to finance an ALT!) and these guys play a few PvP matches and they are loaded down with gold. Very sad this is.

The only way I would even consider continuing to play this game is if the servers are split! We NEED RP SERVERS plain and simple. Also we need a way to keep out players that are there to do nothing but ruin the economy, farm items and basicly just ruin the RP servers like they did the current ones.{{{{You would need to make it so PvE RP server STORAGE/BANKS could NOT be accesed from the PvP servers.}}}}That would keep them where they should be and us where we want to be.

This is a VERY nice looking game and it appears to work nicely. however These any many other issues are hurting it alot right now and I think that the PvP, PvE mix is the main cause of 99% of the problems.

PvP and PvE players are two differant animals entirely with two totaly differant mentalities. The sooner game developers realize this the better. PvP players could care less about a rich story line or pretty forests and landscapes. They prefer closed areas where they can corner thier prey and then gloat or weep depending on thier status after the match. You could put them in a virtual trash can, give them each a virtual baseball bat and they are happy. PvE players require conversation and inteligent game play including planning and stratagy. Not the basic run in, die-yell at healer mentality we see in this game. I for one feel the game is very small, very very small acualy for a MMORPG. I think it took me longer to beat the first resident evil. But i think that splitting the servers and a half way decent content patch would help ALOT.

So I guess I have said enough, made my points, pitched my fixes. So go ahead and flame me lol. No realy go ahead Im pretty thick skinned AND this aint my first rodeo.

Of course the community will be crappier than an MMO with a fee. But i think Anet resolved so many of the problems with usual MMOs (small grind, no ganking, less leeching) that its worthwhile to just ignore the parts of the community you want to ignore. Besides, Im a lvl20 Ele, and I haven't met an unbearable amount of community issues. However I haven't seen any Game Master's on anywhere. Do GM's ever come on?

.. sigh.

1) The community is fine. I've run into a few handful of bad apples. Most everyone is pretty swell.

2) I've had no problems with the market.

3) Game is balanced fine. Game ISN'T balanced where you can run through everything with the same tactic over and over again.

4) I've had no problem making gold. Just this afternoon, I was stunned to discover I had somehow managed to rack up over 10 plat doing my usual monster-hunting.

5) RPG has and will never strictly mean "role-playing" in the sense you've suggested it is. While it certainly can mean that, the term itself has adopted more of a loose "you're going to play a warrior, while I play this class" definition. It does not demand that we speak in thees, thous, talk of our made-up families, and try to score the hot chicken standing over there.

6) Err.. in short..

I've never had any of these problems you describe.

Maybe it's just you?

Sure you can.

You simply have to play to your strengths.

1) You can go around smiting undead around Kryta. I made easy plat that way on my necor/monk smiter.

2) You can sell your services (I've seen it done!) to people who need monks.

3) You can serve as a prot monk to some warrior and help them hydra hunt.

Can't much think of anything else. it's late.

Monks can clean house with undead in ways no warrior ever could.

Your notions about player types may be botched, but they are also pretty damn funny!

I can tell you with some certainty that the shadows hiding in your closet and under your bed are also PvP players. We're coming for you even now! Horde all your canned food and hide out in the nearest bomb shelter with a shotgun (for taking your own life if they breach the perimeter, of course).

I'd again like to emphasize the fact I've -rarely- come across the people you describe in your post. You make it sound like a common occurence. Most everyone I meet ranges from quiet to friendly. Sure, some of them can be "not team players" and try to do it their way, but I've never met.. I dunno..

.. huge idiots?

.. asses?

Again, maybe it's something you're doing.

OMGWTF CAPITALISM!!!!!
OMGWTF MANAGING PPL!!!!
OMGWTF PROPER SPELLING!!!!

Omg why can't everyone just give me gold when I start off and just F OFF! POWERLVLING r TEH SUX!!! Nevermind that it happens in almost EVERY SINGLE GAME.

I welcome the challenge to manage people and generate cash. I have never just laid on my back and felt sorry for myself because "my team were idiots".

Why is everyone so inclined to step down when presented with a problem rather than step up? Why, instead of composing a group of competent people.. does one decide that proclaiming the game's deficiencies as loudly as possible on this forum is a more productive usage of time than finishing what you need to do? Keeping in mind WE CANNOT HELP YOU WITH THESE PROBLEMS, people... It's really up to YOU to overcome your own obstacles, real, or imagined.

Neither can the devs just wave their magical "BEHAVE-OR-ELSE" wand to make players stop being pricks and play cooperatively.

I'm trying to be as much of a straight-shooter as I can without being monstrously derisive... I mean, come on, guys. What'd you think, that going from lvl 1 to lvl 20 would be done in 3 mouse-clicks? That you wouldn't see moochers along the way? That people would sell their wares to the highest-bidder? That *gasp*, along the road to lvl 20 you'd have to deal with problems and people just like you'd have to do in ANY other game in order to finish it?

Besides the trading issues the game is very good.

Never had a people dropping out of groups because they got a lvl up or found a wonderful item... Of course sometimes people drop, but that's most due to other reasons.

For example I once quit shortly before a mission was completed, but I Reallife somtimes is more important, so I said "sorry, got to go " and left the team. Most people don't say anything when leaving, but I just assume they got more important stuff to do. Of course, if you always go mad about such things, noone can help you. You need to see things in a positive way...

Most of the time I group with friends, because that is more fun to play. But most of my friends I've met in Pick-Up-Groups. We just talked and worked together to get the quest done - so we got 'ingame-friends'.

Of course, sometimes a PUG is too bad to win the quest, so you have to try it again. But don't get mad about it. Just try it again with a different group, or ask your friends to help you.

Just see the positive things

Trading is IMHO the weak point of GW. Not that it's totally ****ed up, but it could have been better. To buy things is easy - just watch out what everyone announces in the trade channel while waiting for a group/your friends etc. I bought a lot of stuff that way and if it is too expensive, then I try to get the price lower - if I don't succeed, then I don't buy it, no problem, maybe next time i'll have more luck. But to sell stuff is hard, because it takes time to sitting in the city and announcing what you have to sell. Too few people announcing what they want to buy (including myself)

For example I recently bought a firery dragon sword 17-21 (or something like that) in yak's bend for about 400g. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I do get quite some fine stuff for little money. Because most players don't want to waste too much time selling stuff, so they sell them cheap. I'm also selling my stuff very cheap, because I want to get rid of it... Sometimes I see a minor rune for 800g, then I don't buy it. But there are also people selling them for 100g, because the merchant would pay them 30g...

Just try and look the other way round. If PvP people are willing to pay you good money for stuff, so sell your goods at high prizes to get the money to buy the things you want to have - no problem here.

Also friends can be a great help. I found 2 necro runes - so I just gave them to one of my friends for free, because I know, if he would find runes for me, he would give them to me for free

I haven't seen any difference between PvP and PvE players yet. Mainly because most PvE players also play PvP and the other way round. Allthough the attitude is quite different. I like to walk around, explore new areas and a PvP guy may want to rush through the game to get the most important stuff. No problem though - because he and you, you both have to win this quest, you both try your best to win - I don't see a problem here...

Guild Wars is a great game, allthough there are some jerks, there also some great people and with a good time, it's just a pleasure to play... And even with henchmen it's not that bad (only if they got stuck somewhere and you have to restart the whole quest but that bug will be fixed some time...)
